Assistant Brand Manager - China

The Career


Assistant Brand Manager is a core role to achieve marketing excellence for driving growth of Burt’s Bees China. This role should be supporting marketing managers to effectively manage internal functions & external partners & agencies to implement marketing campaigns & consumer-facing communication.


This role will focus more on brand communication, with skills to adapt brand messaging to be more locally relevant in tone and manner, and to identify the latest social trends and topics to inform brand marketing decisions. Assistant Asia innovation lead on NPD development in line

with an Asia marketing strategy to meet the region's needs to accelerate business growth.


Key Responsibilities (in descending order of importance): % of Time

  1. Assist on formulating brand communication strategy based on 10% brand business strategy and goals

  2. Lead assigned marketing campaigns with internal cross-functions 20% and external agency to ensure delivery on time, budget and ROI

  3. Own social media strategy with agency, strong focus on Red, 30% Weibo & WeChat, knowing how to integrate social media & e-commerce channels to maximize social effect, and explore on trend social platform for effective communication with TA

  4. Support Asia Innovation Lead in market search, NPD plan, product 15% positioning and messaging, and local content development

  5. Work closely with trade marketing & sales to ensure marketing messaging 15% flows through multiple touch points and response to dynamic e-commerce needs.

  6. Monitor and analyze consumer, social media, industry and category insights 10% particularly on digital centric initiatives


Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in brand marketing or agency, experience in eCommerce is an absolute advantage.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in digital marketing.

  • Category experience of skincare, cosmetics, beauty, personal care is much preferred.

  • MNC FMCG company or digital agency experience is an advantage.

  • FMCG or beauty industry experience, in personal care and skincare category is a plus

  • Strong skill set in consumer insights, communication and market dynamics.

  • Expertise on digital & social marketing (paid media, PR, SEM, eCommerce)

  • Able to manage external parties and multi-functions

  • Detail-oriented yet be able to think creatively, with a sense of beauty in consumer communication

  • Native in Mandarin and fluent in English

  • Proactive, bold, and agile team player with entrepreneurship mindset

  • Time and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Strong insights for consumer marketing and digital marketing based on analytical & communication skills at the same time.

  • Coordinate and implement social media management in a timely manner with synergizing marketing activities.

  • Should be able to translate Brand assets into digital marketing language with great sense of

  • communication in English and Chinese.

  • Great at teamwork, Accountable, Proactive, Pleasant, Logical, Willing to learn and grow, Work for the best quality.

  • Native in Mandarin and Advanced in English is preferred.


Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor degree in related disciplines.
